Popular culture has long depicted bikers as rugged vigilantes and other assorted hard-edged tough guys. But there’s more to it. Bikers love raising money for charitable organizations. Loud roaring engines making noise for an inspiring cause.

Over 85 motorcycles of all kinds with riders of all backgrounds got together to spend the day enjoying the open road and raising money for Active Re-Entry’s programs. Bikers truly know and understand the feeling of independence that mobility gives you.

The idea to have a Poker Ride was born when a Roosevelt consumer received his power scooter. He was test driving the scooter the day it was delivered and was so grateful to have his independence back. He had on a motorcycle t-shirt and the idea came that if any group of people could relate to our consumers it was the biker family.

The ride started in Vernal at Beers Harley Davidson, then traveled the back roads through Lapoint, Neola, Bluebell, Altamont, Duchesne, Myton, Roosevelt, Ft Duchesne, and Vernal ending in Naples.

Originally, the plan was to be able to have consumers go on the ride and be able to participate with ATV and side by side rides, however, because of Covid-19 and social distancing, it was not possible this year. With any luck, we will be able to hold another ride next year, with consumers taking part in the fun.

We would like to thank all the sponsors and volunteers that made this event happen. The event raised over $4000.00 for Active Re-Entry.

KB’s Insulation, J&P Oilfield Services, Vengeance Power Sports, Rhino Linings of Roosevelt, TJ’s Tire and Wheels, Carquest, Paragon Oilfield, Enervest, Stubbs and Stubbs Construction, B&D RV, Stitch and Prints, Napa, Sunbelt Rentals, Beers Harley Davidson, Little B’s, The Gateway, World of Beauty, Duchesne Chamber of Commerce, Rod & Wanda Murray, Rod & Shayna Weaver, Justin & Ashleigh Nielson, Daren Wilde, Scott Yelonek Fine Art, Shasta Harmston and Carl Dieckmann.

A Message From Our Director - Terri Yelonek http://www.arecil.orghttps://www.arecil.org/modules/news.htm?newsId=9543
